Building Layout
Multi-Purpose Room
Our large multi-purpose room can be partitioned in the evening for overnight retreats. The St. Anne room for girls and the St. Joachim room for boys reminds youth of the Mary’s parents and Jesus’ grandparents. The chapel area allows for sacred moments, including Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, prayer services, reconciliation services and the like.
Kitchen
In our commercial kitchen, you will find a large stove and griddle, a refrigerator and freezer for your use, a commercial dishwasher and large stainless steel work areas along with many cooking supplies and utensils. In the adjoining dining room, you will find a commercial coffee maker and cabinets fully stocked with plates, cups and utensils.
Lounge
Our lounge features a wonderful painting of St. Joseph Marello over the fireplace and very comfortable couches and chairs. Located at the entrance, this area works quite well as a place to check in and welcome retreatants as they arrive.
Rural Setting
The beautiful property at Marello Youth Retreat Center is expansive. The rural setting allows for young people to leave behind the distractions, worries and stressors that often impede their ability to examine their faith life and spirituality.
Fountain and Grounds
While the running water of a fountain reminds of the significance of water and our baptismal promises, not far away, youth can find those familiar elements that encourage play, teamwork and cooperation. A basketball half-court, tetherball and other hard-surface games provide great options during free time and “fresh air” breaks.
Stations of the Cross
A beautiful outdoor stations of the cross, prayer walks and rosary reflections give youth a chance to explore all dimensions of their Christian faith life.
